# Troubleshooting

> Common issues and solutions for writers

## Common Issues

### "You don't have permission to use this tag"

**Solution**: Request access to the tag from your profile or the article editor

* Tags must be assigned by an editor before you can use them

### "Cannot submit article - missing required fields"

**Solution**: Check that all required fields are filled:

* Title
* Slug
* Excerpt
* Content
* Tags (at least one)
* Author

### "Article is read-only"

**Reason**: Article is published

**Solution**:

* If submitted or in review: Click "Save Draft" to edit, then resubmit when ready
* If needs revision: Make changes and resubmit
* If published: Contact an editor for changes (published articles cannot be edited by writers)

### "Can't find the tag I need"

**Solution**:

* Request the tag to be created (contact an editor)
* Or use the closest available tag
* Check if the tag exists under a different name

### "My application is still pending"

**Solution**:

* Applications are reviewed manually by editors
* Wait for email notification
* Check your application status in the admin dashboard
* Contact support if it's been more than a week
